ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING
Civil Engineering is a professional engineering obedience that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works such as residences, institutional buildings, roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, and railways. It takes place in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.
The Department of Civil Engineering was established in 2014 with an intake of 120, decreased to 60 in 2020. The departmental activities embrace Planning, Design, Construction and Management. The syllabi of the department have been tremendously augmented with many advanced courses. The department has faculty members from all specializations of Civil Engineering like Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Construction Management.
The department has well equipped state-of-the-art laboratories for Surveying, Soil Testing, Cement and Concrete Testing, Highway Material Testing, Quality Testing of water and Waste water samples.
